The PGA Championship tees off this week, and with it comes a new, immersive experience for spectators.
Fans attending the PGA Championship can download the PGA Championship On-Site Guide mobile app, specifically built for ticket holders by Attractions.io. Originally tested at the Ryder Cup last September, the guide offers fans an interactive course map, daily pairings and starting times, schedule planner and more.
The announcement comes as PGA prepares to launch its new, fully-branded spectator app ahead of the championship in Tulsa. Contested each May, the PGA Championship is the second major championship in the United States and features the strongest field in the men’s game based on the Official World Golf Rankings.
From May 11th, spectators could download the app, explore the legendary course at Southern Hills and view player profiles and pairings for the upcoming matches.
Then when the action begins this week, hole-by-hole scoring updates and breaking news from the course will be shared in real-time, utilising push notifications to ensure spectators never miss a crucial moment.
Those visiting the course also benefit from an interactive map and wayfinding, which can be used to follow favourite players or groups, while Tee-off times are set to update automatically, meaning fans always have an up-to-date schedule to hand.
