Welcome to our second product update of 2024! Over the summer, we rolled out enhanced mapping functionalities, and optimised key features like the mobile wallet and guest login. Now, we’re excited to share what we’ve been working on.
These updates are designed to keep you informed about our latest features and help you make the most of your mobile experience. Let’s dive in.
Our mapping engines continue to evolve since the launch of Indoor Mapping, making them even more adaptable and user-friendly across a variety of real-world applications. One of the standout improvements is user camera manipulation, allowing guests to control their view of the map. Whether zooming in on a specific point of interest or adjusting their perspective, this feature makes navigation more dynamic and engaging for your guests. For Android users, custom texture effects, like dynamic lighting, add a layer of visual richness, offering a more immersive way for guests to interact with their surroundings.
Want to simplify navigation even further? With camera lock, the map stays centred on the user’s location and orientation in real-time, so they’re always heading in the right direction without having to manually adjust the map.
Of course, we haven’t forgotten about the developers behind the scenes. MapLayr’s new features make managing maps simpler, faster, and more flexible:
Enhancing the guest journey is at the heart of our latest updates, and with OAuth2 single sign-on (SSO), logging in has never been easier—or more secure. Guests can now sign in using their preferred authentication provider, ensuring a smooth, hassle-free onboarding process. Once signed in, tickets are automatically imported, so guests have immediate access to their passes without needing to enter any details manually.
Keeping their passes up to date is just as seamless. Every time the app is launched, ticket information is automatically refreshed, ensuring guests always have the latest details right at their fingertips. And when needed, they’ll be prompted to re-authenticate, so there’s no risk of losing access to important information during their visit.
For marketers, there's another valuable addition: guests can now opt into marketing communications post sign-in, offering a new way to drive long-term engagement with your audience after login.
Data security remains our top priority. And with only 33% of guests telling us they feel confident in the way attractions handle their data, it's important to be proactive in your communications. Guests can easily log out with a single tap, ensuring their information is secure. Once logged out, their data is no longer accessible in Connect, safeguarding their privacy in line with best practices.
Ticketing is often the first interaction guests have with your attraction, setting the tone for their visit. That’s why we’ve focused on making the mobile wallet fast, flexible, and frictionless.
With flexible date selection, guests can choose their preferred date or time effortlessly, making the ticketing process personal and seamless from the start. Once the order is placed, our integration with API ensures your guests receive instant booking confirmations, cutting out delays and allowing guests to access their tickets right away.
For free events, ticketing is now more inclusive, with a simple process for securing free tickets directly through the app.
Capacity management has been improved to better handle both per-order limits and overall venue capacity, preventing overbooking and ensuring a stress-free experience for guests and operators alike. Additionally, for tickets where a "valid to" date isn’t needed, we’ve added the flexibility to hide it, keeping the ticketing process clear and relevant for each visitor.
Our professional services team specialises in creating custom solutions that seamlessly integrate with client systems, delivering real-time, valuable information to enhance the guest experience.
For Butlins, we introduced a token-based activity purchasing feature that allows guests to buy activities directly through the app. Guests can track their token balance in real time, helping them plan their day more effectively and encouraging greater participation in activities.
At Table Mountain Cableway, we created a custom home screen integrated with their APIs to display key information such as real-time weather updates, cable car status, and wait times. This enables guests to plan their visits with up-to-the-minute information, enhancing their overall experience.
