We're excited to share that Attractions.io has partnered with Marwell Zoo to deliver a brand new mobile app for its guests – just in time for the Easter Holidays! The 140-acre zoological park attracts over 500,000 visitors a year, and the new app will make it even easier for them to plan their visit, find their way around the large site and keep up-to-date with the latest conservation initiatives.

Optimised for all-day usage

Marwell was an early advocate of guest experience apps and initially partnered with a design agency back in 2017 to launch a custom made app that offered guests access to information, park maps and feeding schedules. However, as adoption of the app grew, Marwell found that it struggled to cope with the increased load.

By switching to Attractions.io’s SaaS-based platform, which already supports over 50 attractions and 4 million visits worldwide, the team at Marwell can be confident in the stability of their solution moving forward and focus on delighting guests with new features designed to make it easier for them to plan their visit and make the most of their time at the zoo.

By choosing a solution that's purpose built for the attractions industry, Marwell can be confident that their new app meets the expectations of their today's tech savy visitors. From all-day battery life to support for online and offline usage and over-the-air updates, the new app will act as a companion for visitors all day long.

They can also take advantage of Marwell's new, hand-illustrated interactive park map, which allows guests to find their current location, browse animal enclosures and get GPS enabled directions to points of interest around the park, in just a tap. Guests can even rotate the map and easily orientate themselves at the 140-acre park.

Danielle Bastiaens, Head of Delivery at Attractions.io, said:

“We’re excited to work with Marwell Zoo on their mobile app and help them provide a solution that better suits the needs of today’s guests. The team at Marwell are huge advocates of mobile technology, and we look forward to giving them even more creative opportunities to connect with guests, share news of their conservation programmes and inspire the next generation of wildlife enthusiasts.”

Sean Mannie, Commercial Director at Marwell Zoo, said:

“We’re excited to launch the new app as we head into our summer season. Moving to the Attractions.io platform reflects the importance of technology in future-proofing the guest experience here at Marwell. We're passionate about providing tools that help our guests make great memories with us and the app gives us huge scope to fulfil that goal. Our large park will be easier to navigate, we can access insights that help us personalise the guest experience and we’ll be able to keep guests up to date by using real-time messaging during their visit.
