2023 has been a year of growth for team Attractions.io. In January, we shared the news of our recent investment, in June we announced the launch of a new partnerships program, and today, we're celebrating another milestone – the appointment of our new Chief Operating Officer, Ted Ismert.
With a company headcount boost of 59% so far in 2023, the entire Attractions.io team is eager to continue scaling with the same passion for innovation that has shaped the industry's approach to the digital guest experience for over a decade. With Ted joining the team, we can grow sustainably and ensure we retain our commitment to lead with the guest experience.
In 2009, Attractions.io was founded with a clear mission: to unlock the full potential of every visit through technology. The founders experience as frequent attraction visitors and ride operators meant that they knew all too well the problems that guests faced during their visits.
Mark Locker, Founder & CEO said:
“Attractions.io exists today because we built something we wanted to use ourselves as frequent guests to parks and attractions, solving the frustrations we personally experienced. From there, we spun out a micro-agency to help other attractions do the same, and it quickly became apparent that attractions of all sizes lacked the tools and data to influence the guest journey. We made the decision to embrace the SaaS model in 2016, creating a scalable platform to span every touch point of the guest journey.”
Fast-forward to today, and Attractions.io connects operators to guests at more than 70 attractions, across 4 continents and in 12 languages. They’ve earned the trust of some of the world’s largest entertainment companies, including Merlin Entertainments, The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and the Professional Golf Association of America.
At the start of 2023, Attractions.io partnered with SSA Group to accelerate the development of their ambitious product roadmap and offer increased support to cultural attractions across North America. Later in the year, the team announced they were levelling up their partnership strategy to promote interoperability and enhance collaboration between the industry’s leading vendors.
With Ted Ismert as COO, Attractions.io has gained more than two decades of experience in mobile app development, enterprise customer support, and digital products.
Ismert, formerly the president of Wunderman Thompson Apps, is an expert in designing and building enterprise mobile solutions, having supported brands like JetBlue, PGA TOUR, and the NBA. Coming from a publicly-held Fortune 500 company, Ismert understands the rigour required to scale the commercial side of the business sustainably during a period of accelerated growth.
Mark Locker expressed his delight in welcoming Ismert to the team:
"Ted's vast experience in mobile technology and commercial operations made him the perfect fit for Attractions.io at this exciting time of growth. I look forward to working with Ted to bring our vision to life, helping more attractions to deliver a seamless guest experience that unlocks the full potential in every visit."
Ted Ismert shared his enthusiasm for joining the thriving and agile team at Attractions.io, stating:
"Coming into an organisation that's poised to grow is very exciting. I'm very eager to help shape that growth, drive the commercial side of the business, and scale teams up for the good of the company and its customers."
Ismert also shared how he sees the potential of Attractions.io and the immense opportunities for his role in the future:
“Going from a 12-24 month development timeline to build a bespoke guest experience platform in just 2-3 months using the Attractions.io platform, and delivering what would be a multi-million dollar project for a fraction of the price is astonishing. Layer in an expanding professional services team within the business that is developing bespoke solutions on top of the core platform for our enterprise clients and instantly there’s tremendous possibility to have a real impact in our industry.”
With Ismert at the helm alongside Mark Locker, Attractions.io will be focusing on enriching existing customer relationships, expanding their professional services team, and extending the company’s reach to new markets. Alongside recent US hires Chris Antoline (Partnerships Manager) and Cory Nadler (Customer Success), Ismert is eager to provide further support for customers in North America and attractions seeking to unlock the full potential of their experiences.
The combination of these initiatives will help customers worldwide utilise the Attractions.io platform to improve guest experience, acquire actionable behavioural insights and drive revenue and secondary spending.
